The New Mexico Businessman's Team Roping Association meet for a 3 day roping event at the Southern New Mexico Fairground set in the desert outside Las Cruses. An average of 400 teams per roping compete in pairs on horseback, to lasso a succession of young bulls which are released from a trap. Ropings attract both male and female members and spectators from beyond NM state in neighbouring Texas and Arizona.
