APPLEBY FAIR
Gypsies and Travellers from across the UK and Ireland gather every summer at one of the oldest and largest horse fairs in Europe, held at Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria. An assortment of horse-drawn wagons and motorised caravans set up camp just outside town. Each day horses are led down to the river to be washed and groomed ready for the day's trading. A book containing the full series of photographs taken over six years, is published by Armus. http://www.armus.co.uk/publishing/Books.html
